It’s my party and I’ll cry if I want to! Isn’t that just the perfect theme for a first birthday party? It’s their first party, and chances are at some point, they will cry! (and that’s ok!) This theme was perfectly complimented by the Fun to Be One collection. It’s so cute with pink and gold polka dots and so many customization options. I wanted the party to have a classic, 60's twist to it. Pops of hot pink, the black and white checked floor, and the adorable tutu table skirt helped accomplish this look. I used white iridesent metallic curtains with gold mylar balloons attached to spell out "it’s my party" and a light box to say "and I’ll cry if I want to". I attached streamers, banners, and circle garland to the ceiling. I love to think outside of the box and add things to the ceiling and also the floor to really make a theme stand out. Using table cloths under the table and scattering honeycomb balls are 2 of my favorite ways to do this. I also used the streamers as a table runner and scattered confetti all over. I like to have the age that the guest of honor is turning represented somewhere besides the cake at every birthday party so this foam number that I spray painted gold did just the trick. For favors, I filled these cute customized candy bags with bright pink gumballs and customized birthday hats. I loved using these customized glass milk bottles with striped straws for the drinks. It was the perfect way to tie in the theme. My favorite little accent to this party would have to be the disco ball! Doesn’t is just make everything more fun?!
