We love getting creative when styling a birthday party. From balloon clouds to background pieces and updated props, follow these easy steps to put your Barbie birthday party over the top.
Create a Pink Barbie "B" Balloon
Make sure every guest knows that it’s a Barbie party with a giant letter "B" made with the sweetest pink balloons, greenery and flowers. Here’s what you need:
- 5" pink balloons
- Balloon inflator
- Fishing line
- Bouquet of roses with baby’s breath
- Hot glue gun
- DIY background
- Pink flat paper
Start by making three balloon garlands. For easy step-by-step instructions on how to make a balloon garland, check out our balloon garland blog. Each balloon garland should be about 3-5 feet long.
Set up your DIY background and tape or glue on the pink flat paper. This will create an easy, portable background for your party! Start the "B" with one balloon garland strand as the straight line, then fashion the other two garlands as the looped sections of the "B". We used hot glue to stick the garland to the background and to keep the pieces together. Remember to use medium heat so the balloons won’t pop!
Continue using the hot glue gun to add in your roses, leaves and baby’s breath throughout the letter. Set up your balloon background for a fun photo booth for the girls to use during the party!
Bright Clouds Over Barbie’s Dreamhouse
It’s always a sunny day in Malibu! Give some dimension, texture and fun to your party room with these balloon clouds made with white balloons and metallic curtains. Simply blow up 5", 11" and giant white balloons. Start by tying four balloons together to create a quad. Add more varying sizes of balloons to this quad until you’ve made a large clump. You’ll have to work the balloons by twisting and pulling to make it look more like a cloud. Add in the giant white balloons and hot glue on a few more balloons to make it as fluffy-looking as possible! Silver metallic curtains from Shindigz come with a sticky application – simply cut the curtains down to the size you’re looking for, and stick them to your balloon clouds. And you’re done!
All the DIY Party Decor Accents
We love the Barbie Dreamhouse Adventures 3D Dreamhouse! Our party stylist wanted to pair this amazing party prop with some of the cutest DIY accents. They’re so easy to create with some Shindigz decor basics.
Add some fun to the Dreamhouse with hedge props and a green balloon garland. Follow along on our balloon garland blog to create a fun green balloon garland background piece. Plus, our hedges are the perfect accent for the Dreamhouse. We added pink pomps to the hedges for the cutest rosebush look.
Fill the party space with balloons! Instead of just blowing up single balloons, tie a pair together and then twist them onto another balloon pair. This creates a balloon quad that looks great spread out throughout the party. We even added some to the wall as background piece!
